Getting started
What is Reveliers?+
A private, structured place to keep the record of your watch collection. Wear logs, service history, prices, stories, insurance details, photos. Plus a small community feed and a catalog you can identify watches against from a photo.
What do I get on the free tier?+
Up to 5 watches, 3 identifies per month, read-only access to the community feed, and a 5-item wishlist. The 14-day Pro trial activates automatically on sign-up so you can try the full app before deciding.
How do I sign in?+
Sign in with Apple is the only sign-in method. You'll see the standard Apple prompt when you open the app for the first time. We never see your Apple ID password.
The encrypted vault
What does end-to-end encrypted mean here?+
Every record in your vault (wear logs, service entries, prices, stories, measurements, insurance details, photos) is encrypted on your iPhone with a key that lives in your iCloud Keychain. The Reveliers server stores opaque ciphertext for those records, and the vault key is never sent to Reveliers. Apple's iCloud Keychain is designed so the key data is end-to-end encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you can read your collection. Community data (posts, profile, comments, subscription) is handled separately and described in the Privacy Policy.
What syncs to my other Apple devices?+
iCloud Keychain syncs the vault key automatically across the iPhones and iPads signed into the same Apple ID. Once the key is on a new device, the vault decrypts locally. No setup required beyond signing in.
What happens if I lose access to my Apple ID?+
If you lose access to your Apple ID with no other Apple devices and no Apple recovery contact, your vault becomes permanently unreadable. That's the trade-off of an architecture where we genuinely can't see your data. Keep an Apple recovery contact set up, and consider exporting an insurance-ready PDF/CSV periodically as a backup.
Can I reset the vault key?+
Yes, in Profile > Encrypted Vault > Reset vault key. Note that this makes every existing ciphertext on the server permanently unreadable. Use this if you're signing into a different Apple ID on the device or if you suspect the key was compromised.
Subscriptions
What do Pro and Collector unlock?+
Pro: unlimited collection size, 50 identifies per month, insurance-ready exports, saved searches with new-match alerts, full community access. Collector adds unlimited identifies with priority queue, sale-ready provenance packets, market-price alerts when shipped, and a Collector badge. The Founders lifetime tier (limited cohort) gives Collector-equivalent access plus a Founders badge and your name in the early credits.
How do I cancel my subscription?+
In iOS Settings: tap your Apple ID at the top, then Subscriptions, then Reveliers Pro, then Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then. We can't cancel subscriptions on our end; Apple owns the billing.
How do I request a refund?+
Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't have the ability to issue refunds directly.
I bought a lifetime tier on another device. How do I unlock it here?+
Open the paywall in the app and tap Restore Purchases. As long as the new device is signed into the same Apple ID, your lifetime access carries over.
Identify
How does identifying a watch from a photo work?+
Take a clear photo of the dial in the app. We match it against a catalog covering Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Seiko, Grand Seiko, Cartier, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, microbrands, and vintage references. The catalog keeps growing. Each identify call counts toward your monthly quota on the free and Pro tiers; Collector and Founders are unlimited.
Why didn't Identify recognize my watch?+
A few common reasons: the dial wasn't fully in frame, lighting glare hid the markers, or the reference isn't in the catalog yet. For uncataloged references, we'd love a note in the Send feedback sheet so we know what to prioritize.
Does my identify photo get stored?+
No. Identify photos are processed for the response and not retained, unless you separately choose to post the photo to the community feed.
Insurance and exports
How do exports work?+
From the Insurance tab on any watch, tap Export claim packet to generate a per-watch PDF. From Profile > Insurance export, you can generate a collection-wide summary PDF or CSV, or per-watch CSVs. Everything goes through iOS's share sheet so you can save to Files, email an underwriter, or text it to your watchmaker.
Will my insurer accept these exports?+
Reveliers structures the record in the shape insurers and underwriters typically ask for. We don't guarantee any specific insurer will accept the format. Treat the export as a head start; your underwriter may ask for additional documents (original receipts, formal appraisals, photographs at specific angles).
Privacy and data
What does Reveliers see vs. what stays private?+
The community side (posts, comments, follows, profile) lives on the server in plaintext because other collectors need to see it. The vault side (wear logs, prices, service, stories, insurance, measurements, photos of your collection) is end-to-end encrypted; we genuinely can't read it. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
Do you sell my data or run ads?+
No. There are no ads in Reveliers. We do not sell user data, share it with advertisers, or use community content to train external machine-learning models without an explicit opt-in.
Account
How do I delete my account?+
In the app, go to Profile and tap Delete account at the bottom of the account card. Confirm twice. The server purges every record tied to your account (posts, comments, vault entries, photo blobs in our private bucket) and the iOS app wipes your local data and signs you out. Lifetime purchases are not refundable on deletion, and subscription auto-renewal needs to be cancelled separately in iOS Settings.
Can I export my data before I delete?+
Yes. Use the Insurance export tools in Profile to generate PDF and CSV copies of your collection records first. Once your account is deleted, the export tools go with it.
Reporting and bugs
How do I report bad behavior?+
In the community feed, tap the three-dot menu on any post or comment to report it. Reports go straight into our moderation queue. For severe issues, email support@reveliers.com directly.
I found a bug. What's the best way to tell you?+
Profile > Send feedback, pick Bug report, and tell us what broke. The form auto-captures your app version, iOS version, and hardware so we can reproduce. For urgent issues, email support@reveliers.com.
