Community guidelines
What's welcome here. What isn't.
Last updated June 15, 2026
What this is for
Reveliers has a small community feed where collectors share wristshots, ask questions, and discuss watches. These guidelines describe what is and isn't allowed there. They apply to every post, comment, reaction, direct message (if and when shipped), shared collection, and profile field that other users can see.
They sit alongside the Terms of Service, which are the contractual version. If something here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms win. In practice the two say the same thing in different registers.
Core principles
- Talk about watches. Reveliers is a watch community first. Off-topic content is not enforcement-prioritised, but stay reasonably close to the hobby.
- Be honest. Don't pretend to be someone you aren't. Don't claim ownership of watches you don't own. Don't fake provenance, condition, or service history.
- Be civil. Disagreement is fine. Personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, and targeted abuse are not.
- Respect the work. Brands, watchmakers, and other collectors put effort into what they make and what they own. Critique freely; degrade no one.
Not allowed, in any form
The following content is removed on sight and accounts posting it can be suspended or permanently terminated without notice.
- Content that sexualises or endangers minors. Zero tolerance. Reported to authorities. See the Child safety section below.
- Harassment, threats, doxxing, or targeted abuse of any individual or group.
- Hate speech against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or serious illness.
- Illegal content, including but not limited to: stolen-watch listings, counterfeit promotion, weapons sales, drug sales, fraud schemes.
- Content that infringes someone else's intellectual property: pirated images, unauthorised reproduction of brand assets, content you don't have permission to share.
- Sexually explicit content, gratuitous violence, gore, or shock content.
- Spam, repetitive promotional content, multi-level marketing schemes, cryptocurrency or NFT shilling, unsolicited offers.
- Impersonation of another person, brand, or business. Parody accounts must be clearly marked as parody.
- Listing watches for sale through the community feed. Reveliers is not a marketplace. We may enable a marketplace surface in the future; until then, sales posts will be removed.
- Doxxing or sharing private personal information about anyone without their consent.
- Scraping, crawling, or automated extraction of community content. Bots are not welcome.
- Anything that violates applicable law.
Watch-specific rules
A few rules that apply specifically because this is a watch community.
- Counterfeits and replicas: Do not promote, advertise, link to, or vouch for sellers of counterfeit watches. Educational discussion of how to spot fakes is welcome and encouraged; promotion of fake sellers is not.
- Stolen watches: Do not post listings or photos that promote the sale of stolen watches. If you suspect a watch is stolen, report it to local authorities and use the Report function so we can remove the post.
- Frankenwatches: Modified or partial watches are fine to share. Misrepresenting a frankenwatch as original is not.
- Authentication disputes: Civil discussion of whether a watch is authentic is fine. Mob-style pile-ons on a seller without evidence are not.
- Brand criticism: Critiquing brands, designs, or business practices is welcome. Personal attacks on watchmakers, dealers, or other collectors are not.
Child safety
Reveliers has zero tolerance for content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors. This applies regardless of how the content is framed, including content presented as "art" or "fiction".
If we identify or are notified of any such content:
- We remove the content immediately.
- We permanently terminate the account that posted it, with no appeal.
- We preserve the content for law-enforcement reporting where required.
- We report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to any other authorities required by applicable law.
Reveliers is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly maintain accounts for users under 13. If you believe a child has signed up for Reveliers, email support@reveliers.com and we will investigate and remove the account.
To report content that violates this section directly to us, email admin@reveliers.com. Please include enough detail for us to locate the content (username, approximate date, a link or screenshot). Use this address rather than the in-app report flow for severity.
How to report something
In the app. Tap the three-dot menu on any post or comment, choose Report, and pick the closest reason. Add a note if context helps.
By email. For severe issues or anything that involves a real-world threat, support@reveliers.com (community concerns) or admin@reveliers.com (child safety, security, legal-process notices).
What happens after a report
Every report goes into a moderation queue. We aim to review reports within 48 hours, faster for severe issues. We use a combination of human review and a small set of automated triage rules; final decisions on enforcement are human-reviewed.
Possible outcomes:
- No action: the content does not violate these guidelines.
- Removal: the content is taken down. The poster is notified with the reason.
- Warning: the account stays active but receives a formal warning. Subsequent violations escalate quickly.
- Temporary suspension: the account is suspended for a fixed period (typically 7 to 30 days).
- Permanent termination: the account is terminated. Used for severe violations or repeat offences.
We do not disclose the identity of reporters to the reported user.
Appeals
If your content was removed or your account was actioned and you believe it was a mistake, reply to the notification email or write to support@reveliers.com explaining why you think the decision should be reversed. We will re-review with fresh eyes and respond. Appeals are not available for permanent terminations involving illegal content or child safety violations.
Blocking and muting
You can mute or block other users in the app. Blocked users cannot see your posts or interact with you. Muting hides their content from you without telling them.
If a single user is making the community worse for you, blocking is the right first move. Reporting is for behavior that violates these guidelines.
Changes to these guidelines
We will update these guidelines when the community grows or new failure modes emerge. The "Last updated" date at the top changes when we revise anything material. We will give notice in the app for changes that affect what you can post.
